# Turkish suits for Central Asia and the Caucasus

A guide for wholesalers and retailers in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and CIS markets who buy men's suits and tuxedos from Istanbul.

## The short answer

Turkish suits are a natural fit for Central Asia and the Caucasus. Turkey is close by road and air, Turkish is widely understood in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan and familiar across the region, and Istanbul factories already produce the wedding, ceremony and business styles these markets buy. Wholesale buyers can order ready-stock lots or made-to-order runs from 100 units per style, and ship by truck or air.

## Why buyers in the region source from Turkey

Many menswear shops in Baku, Tashkent, Almaty, Bishkek, Ashgabat and Tbilisi already sell Turkish suits. The reasons are practical:

- **Closeness.** Direct flights from Istanbul to most capitals in the region, and established truck routes through Georgia and across the Caspian.
- **Language and culture.** Azerbaijani and Turkmen buyers usually speak with Turkish factories directly. Buyers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan often find Turkish easier to learn than other trade languages, and English works too.
- **Taste.** Turkish menswear follows European cuts but understands ceremony traditions, colours and fits that sell in the region.
- **Speed.** Production is typically 12-15 days at our factory, depending on quantity, model and fabric. Fast reorders before the wedding season matter.

We communicate in **Turkish and English** on WhatsApp and Telegram.

## What sells: weddings, ceremonies and business

Weddings are the biggest driver of suit demand in most of the region. A single wedding often means suits for the groom, his brothers, friends and older relatives, plus outfits for engagement and other family events.

| Occasion | Styles buyers commonly order |
|---|---|
| Groom | Tuxedos with shawl or peak lapel, 3-piece suits, white, ivory or dark colours |
| Family and guests | Classic 2-piece and 3-piece suits in navy, black, grey |
| Engagement and ceremonies | Jacquard and velvet-look jackets, statement tuxedos |
| Business and office | Navy, grey and charcoal 2-piece suits, modern fit |
| Graduation and youth | Slim-fit suits in fashion colours |

See our ranges for [wedding suits](/mens-suit-manufacturing/wedding-suits), [tuxedos](/mens-suit-manufacturing/tuxedos) and ceremony suits.

Climate matters too. Winters in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan call for heavier fabrics and 3-piece suits, while summer in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan calls for lighter cloth.

## Ordering: stock lots or made to order

| Option | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Ready-stock lots | One model in a size run, for example EU 46-48-50-52-54-56, six suits per lot | Shops that want many models in one shipment |
| Made to order | From 100 units per style, your fabric, colour and fit | Wholesalers and chains with steady volume |
| Private label | Made to order with your labels, lining, buttons and packaging | Buyers building their own brand |

We work with businesses only. If you need a suit for your own wedding, please visit a retailer; the smallest order we accept is one lot.

## Logistics through Turkey

Most suits to the region travel by road or air.

| Route | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Road via Georgia to Azerbaijan | Regular orders to Baku, Tbilisi and onward |
| Road via Georgia, Azerbaijan and the Caspian to Central Asia | Larger orders to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan |
| Road via Iran to Turkmenistan and Central Asia | Used by some forwarders, depending on current conditions |
| Air from Istanbul | Urgent orders, wedding season top-ups, samples |

Many buyers in the region work with a forwarder in Istanbul who consolidates goods from several suppliers into one truck. We can deliver to your forwarder or quote door-to-door delivery. Routes and transit times change, so we quote shipping per destination. See our [shipping page](/shipping).

## Documents and customs

The usual export documents are the commercial invoice, packing list and, where required, a certificate of origin. Some countries in the region have specific requirements for clothing, including marking or labelling rules. Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, for example, are members of the Eurasian Economic Union, which has its own technical regulations for light industry products.

Requirements and duty rates differ by country and change over time. Please confirm them with your customs broker before ordering, and send us their list of documents so we can prepare everything correctly.

## Sizes for the region

Most buyers in the region work with EU sizes, which are the same numbers used in the Russian size system for men's suits (half the chest in centimetres). Common requests:

- Core range EU 46-56 for most shops
- Larger sizes, 58-64, for big & tall customers
- Longer jacket and trouser lengths for taller customers in some markets
- Drop 6 or drop 7 fits for slimmer young customers

Tell us your customers' typical builds and we will suggest a size curve. Our [size guide](/size-guide) explains the measurements.

## Payment

Payments are usually made by international bank transfer in USD or EUR. A common practice is a deposit when the order is confirmed and the balance before shipment, with terms written on the proforma invoice. Banking routes vary by country, so check with your bank which transfer route works best for payments to Turkey.

## Checklist for buyers in the region

- Season planned backwards from wedding peak dates
- Models chosen for groom, family and business customers
- Size curve matched to your customers
- Forwarder in Istanbul or door-to-door delivery decided
- Documents and duties confirmed with your customs broker
- Payment route checked with your bank

## Planning around the wedding season

In much of the region, weddings cluster in particular months, and demand for suits rises sharply before them. Shops that sell out in the busy weeks lose sales they cannot recover, so timing matters more than squeezing the last cent from the price.

A practical plan:

1. Place your main order several weeks before the season, so production and road freight finish in time.
2. Keep part of your budget for a quick top-up of the models that sell fastest.
3. Use air freight for urgent top-ups, road for the main order.

Because our production time is short, a top-up order can often reach you during the same season. Ask us for the current lead time when you plan.

## Mixing stock and made-to-order

Many buyers in the region combine both ways of buying. Ready-stock lots bring variety: many models and colours in one truck. Made-to-order runs of 100 units per style bring depth in your best sellers, at a better unit price and with your own labels if you want them.
